Pat - please feel free to use any of this (said he, thinking what he was about to say might be 'really important' ha ha) as testimonial type stuff - and I've put a question in for you as well about the recordings.
There was a free
mp3 you made available to me (I can't remember where it came from now) from one of the
B4B calls about 9 months ago and I listened to it one morning on the tram to work. Then I listened to it again the following morning. And again.
I listened to that one recording something like 19 times and it got quite irritating; I started to question my lack of observation skills, because every time I listened to it I learned something new about
blogging, mainly from you and your interactions with Edward and the other members on the call.
That one recording made me want to blog. There were only a few people on the call but it was packed with information while it was also just a pleasant chat between a friendly bunch and I was impressed by your patient and helpful manner (I want to mention Edward too because I think he's a great role model).
Now I don't want you feeling I'm being disloyal but I also joined another paid membership site for bloggers - one that's more 'techie' - and while they provide things like toolbars for Firefox etc I don't spend a fifth as much time with their material as I do with yours. With their material I don't quite 'get it'. There's something special about B4B.
I've not done the '19 times listening to' thing since that first recording (I'll admit to two or three times though and sometimes I listen again just for fun) because I think I've learned the material and become familiar with the material.
What I love about B4B is the tone of the group. I think 'atmosphere' is everything. Since joining B4B I've spent a lot of time listening and talking to other internet marketers and what I don't like is the drive to always 'make money'. I'm a make-purpose kind of person. Now I know we need the money and I know you're a marketing/money-making expert too Pat, but that's not what motivates me in the short term. I do intend to make the dough but I want to do it slowly.
I had one well-known internet marketer with 'a formula' phoning me repeatedly who wouldn't take 'it's a good programme but I'm not ready for it' for an answer and he burned the bridges when he said 'well, you can't be taking this business seriously, can you?'. I want to enjoy and value what I'm doing and I want making money to be a side affect of that - not the other way round.
I think I'm a 'wallower' (wait till you see me on video - you'll think eh, he's right, he could wallow) - I like to experience and get familiar with an environment first and then pick and choose my own path. I find B4B a very comfortable place to be and although you are obviously involved in the 'do-it-now' marketing world' B4B has got the right balance for helping people who want to transition from 'value builders' to 'money-makers'.
If anyone tells me they're interested in blogging I always recommend they come to B4B first if they want to know how.
Here's the question (a 'no' won't offend) Pat I would like to put the mp3 I listened to 19 times as a sample to download on my blog - would that be OK please? I may have to listen to all of them again to figure out which one it was. Oh dear, how awful.
Regards.
Carl
